Walk in peace: A former child soldier's quest to create the life stolen from him as a boy
Emmanuel Jal is a hip hop artist, activist and author who survived a brutal and bloody civil war in South Sudan that took his family's life.
Emmanuel Jal says most revolutions start in cafes. So he created one in Toronto.
It's called "Jal Gua," which means "walk in peace" in the Naath language of East Africa.
The new cafe is the latest in Emmanuel's ventures, which are all attempts to create the life that was stolen from him as a boy.
