Musician Danny Michel never imagined he'd go to the Arctic. That is, until he met retired astronaut Chris Hadfield.

Danny is part of a small group of artists, scientists and photographers from around the world that will accompany Hadfield on an 18-day journey on a Russian icebreaker to explore the icy expanses of the Canadian Arctic.

Danny will be attempting to write and record an album in just over two weeks, surrounded by "icebergs and polar bears."

He tells Candy about an upcoming adventure with the world-famous astronaut.

Kapitan Khlebnikov departs from Ottawa on August 22. Read the itinerary and see the full crew list.
