How one woman uses tattoos to change people's lives — starting with her own
Basma Hameed uses body art in a unique way.
A childhood accident has left Basma Hameed with severe burns on her face and her left eye nearly melted shut. After 100 surgeries, the plastic surgeon told her there was nothing more to be done.
That's when Basma decided to take matters into her own hands. After researching the effects of permanent make-up on scar tissue, she decided to tattoo her eyebrows. Eventually, she has created and effectively used her own micropigmentation technique to reconstruct pigmentation on her face.
Now, Basma works as a para-medical micropigment specialist, and helps others rebuild their self-esteem and confidence.
