This week, the pitchforks of the people of the Internet were directed at a school and police in Irving, Texas.

14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed was detained after he brought a homemade clock to school.

People are saying it's racial profiling of a 14-year-old.

The story sparked the hashtag #IStandWIthAhmed, with several celebrities offering him their support.

Is this story worth our rage?

"If there was some concern, contain the item and maybe look at it, but I think that handcuffing the kid and dragging him seemed OTT (over the top)," said Leslie Seiler.

Mohamed's engineering teacher had reportedly told him not to show other teachers the clock, an aspect of the story Tom Howell took issue with.

"He said, 'Nice clock, I can tell it's a clock — definitely not a bomb. Don't show it to any other teachers. Keep it in this suitcase with you' Now it starts to be suspicious," Howell said.

Mohamed has been cleared of all charges, but police did detain him Monday, for what they said could have been a "hoax" bomb.

"Three times by this point in the day this guy's been asked, 'What is it,' and he says, 'It's a clock.' If you're trying to scare people, you say, 'It's a bomb.'"
