U.S. student gets stuck in giant vagina statue, needs to be rescued by 22 firefighters

For many young men, the female anatomy can be intimidating. But few have more reason to fear the vulva than the American 20-year-old who got trapped inside of one. For many young men, the female anatomy can be intimidating. But few have more reason to fear the vulva than the American 20-year-old who got trapped inside of one. The student was on an exchange at Germany's University of Tübingen when -- on a dare -- he crawled inside the giant stone vulva outside the university's microbiology institute.

It was hilarious, in a juvenile way -- but it quickly turned worrisome, when he couldn't free himself from the sculpture's cavernous folds.

In the end, after a great deal of labour, it took 22 firefighters in five trucks to deliver him.

Not one to pass up Internet gold, his so-called "friend" snapped a photo of the student sprawled on the ground and knee-deep inside the marble structure. The friend posted the photo online, and the comments sections of social media filled up with innuendo.

Speaking with the local newspaper, the town's mayor said he couldn't figure out how the student had done it, "even when considering the most extreme adolescent fantasies. To reward such a masterly achievement with the use of 22 firefighters almost pains my soul."
