Toronto music video director Emily Kai Bock on her Prism Prize win for Arcade Fire's 'Afterlife'

And the Prism Prize for best Canadian music video of the year goes to... Arcade Fire's "Afterlife"! Toronto-based director Emily Kai Bock took home the prize last night for her video, which tells the story of a single father and his two sons, switching between the characters' waking moments and their dreams.

"I was really scared to send this treatment to Arcade Fire," Ms. Kai Bock told Carol about the abstract narrative used in her music video. "It just seemed like I was way over my head and it wasn't going to work."

Obviously, the Prism Prize jury thought otherwise about the final product.

Ms. Kai Bock takes home a $5,000 cash prize. She was also nominated for her video for Majical Cloudz' "Childhood End".
