Father of Omagh victim hopes new charges bring justice

On Friday, Seamus Daly appeared in a Northern Ireland court, charged with the mass murder of 29 people in the 1998 bombing of Omagh, Northern Ireland, by the Real IRA. We had many false dawns, in the past.

Mr. Gallagher notes that there have been many arrests, in connection to the bombing, and two trials: one leading to an aquittal and one to a conviction which was subsequently overturned.

Victims' families believe that Omagh was preventable, and a victims' group has petitioned the British and Irish governments to launch a public inquiry.
