In 2022, CBC and Massey Hall announced a five-year partnership that would include a new live concert series available across CBC platforms as well as new programming initiatives to amplify emerging and established homegrown musical talent.

Today, nine episodes of CBC Music Live at Massey are available to stream for free on CBC Gem, with four additional performances to be added on March 8. A historic Toronto music venue that originally opened in 1894, Massey Hall is considered a milestone in many artists' careers. Legendary recordings made at the venue include Neil Young's Live at Massey Hall 1971, Rush's All the World's a Stage, and Gordon Lightfoot's Sunday ConcertCBC Music Live at Massey aims to highlight the best in Canadian music right now across a range of genres. 

Performances available now include: the Beaches (recorded November 2023), Charlotte Day Wilson (recorded June 2022), Donovan Woods (recorded May 2022), Jeremy Dutcher (recorded December 2023), July Talk (recorded March 2023), Matt Andersen & the Big Bottle of Joy (recorded April 2023), Ombiigizi (recorded April 2023), Wild Rivers (recorded June 2022), and the 2023 Polaris Music Prize gala (recorded September 2023). 

On March 8, four more performances will be available to stream on CBC Gem: Charlotte Cardin (recorded February 2024), Geddy Lee in conversation with special guests (recorded December 2023), the Glorious Sons (recorded June 2022) and William Prince (recorded April 2022).
