Neil Young announces new tour and album with Crazy Horse
Two years after saying he would no longer tour, Young and his band will perform in the U.S. and Canada
Neil Young and his band, Crazy Horse, are hitting the road in April and May for a newly announced Love Earth tour.
Young also announced a new album with the band, FU##IN' UP, set for release on April 20, four days before the tour kicks off in San Diego. The sole Canadian date is set for May 20 at Toronto's Budweiser Stage.
In a press release, the album is described as revealing "Neil Young + Crazy Horse in all their ragged glory, playing songs from their long relationship."
"In the spirit it's offered ... made this for the Horse lovers," Young said in the release. "I can't stop it. The horse is runnin'. What a ride we have. I don't want to mess with the vibe. I am so happy to have this to share."
In 2022, Young stated that he would no longer tour unless he was able to do so in an environmentally sustainable way.
"When I look at the compromise that I would have to make to do that, the things that I don't believe in, that I'd have to endorse, it doesn't turn me on," Young told Q's Tom Power. "I can deal with the power for the venue, I can make it clean. I can make the P.A. clean, the lights clean, the electricity in the building clean. I can clean up all my vehicles. I've got the right fuel. I can do all of that. But the food — all those places are fed by factory farms."
