From Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nelly Furtado hosted the 53rd Juno Awards on Sunday, March 24. Four awards were handed out: album of the year, group of the year, breakthrough artist of the year and the Juno TikTok Fan Choice Award. The broadcast also included performances by the Beaches, Charlotte Cardin, Josh Ross, Jeremy Dutcher and Elisapie, Karan Aujla, Talk and Furtado herself. Maestro Fresh Wes was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Tegan and Sara were honoured with the 2024 Humanitarian Award, and there were musical tributes to Karl Tremblay, Gordon Lightfoot and Robbie Robertson.
