The 2020 Junos have been cancelled since this article was first published.

This year's host, singer Alessia Cara, leads the Juno Awards with six nominations, followed by Toronto rapper Tory Lanez with five.

The 23-year-old singer has had a busy couple of years, first releasing her sophomore album, The Pains of Growing, in 2018, and last September she capped off her tour with Shawn Mendes with the EP This Summer. Both records are up for awards this year, including single of the year ("Out of Love"), album of the year (The Pains of Growing), artist of the year, songwriter of the year, pop album of the year (The Pains of Growing) and the Juno Fan Choice Award.

Lanez has been equally as prolific, with his nominations honouring his 2019 album Chixtape 5 (R&B/soul recording of the year) as well as two singles, "Freaky" (rap recording of the year) and his collaboration with Jessie Reyez and Tainy, "Feel it Too" (a second nod in the R&B/soul recording of the year category). To round it out, Lanez is also up for artist of the year and the Juno Fan Choice Award.

A number of artists tied for third-most nominations with three nominations this year: Shawn Mendes, Bryan Adams, Alexandra Stréliski and three artists who performed at last year's Junos: Nav, Loud Luxury and Bülow.
