Alessia Cara to host the 2020 Juno Awards
The 23-year-old pop star will take the stage for the March 15 broadcast

Two-time Juno Award winner and Grammy-winning artist Alessia Cara is set to host the 2020 Juno Awards on March 15 in Saskatoon.
The 23-year-old pop star, who broke out in 2015 with her hit single "Here," released her sophomore album, The Pains of Growing, in 2018, and in 2019 she released This Summer, an EP she wrote while touring with Shawn Mendes.
Cara may still be a relatively young artist, but she has quickly become a well-known name at the Junos. In 2016, she was crowned breakthrough artist of the year. "I am just a regular girl who lived the most normal life," she said in what she admitted was her first acceptance speech ever. "And ever since I released one song, I haven't lived the same day twice."
Since then, Cara has taken home another Juno, for pop album of the year in 2017 for her debut, Know-It-All. And in 2018, she made history as the first Canadian-born artist to win the best new artist award at the Grammys.
In a press release today, Cara expressed her excitement to host the Junos for the first time. "I am ecstatic to be a part of the largest celebration of Canadian music and can't wait to see what the country's top talent has in store."
Allan Reid, president and CEO of CARAS/the Juno Awards and MusiCounts, added: "Her music and artistry has quickly grown to be internationally recognized, and I know she will be a fantastic host."
In addition to the host reveal, CARAS announced earlier this month that this year's Hall of Fame inductee will be singer-songwriter Jann Arden.
