Take a good, hard look at these top locations to watch the July 1 display
For many, the pyrotechnics are the best part of Canada Day celebrations.
But the perennial question remains: where is the best place to watch the fireworks launched every year from Parliament Hill?
So far this summer, we've asked people in Ottawa for the best place to hoist a pint, the best place to picnic and the best place to ride your bike.
Then, we asked where you like to watch the July 1 fireworks. The fireworks start at 10 p.m.
As usual, we got a range of responses, from the enthusiastic, to the eccentric, to the secretive.
We asked you to vote and here are the results, revealing the best place in Ottawa to settle in, crane your neck and start the oohs and aahs.
Just bring your life preserver, because the winner is aquatic.
Apparently it's best to take take in the show while you're on a boat.
A solid silver and bronze medal go to Major's Hill Park, right beside the Hill, and to the homebodies who love to watch them on television.
Maybe that special spot will help you get the perfect shot this year.
