Whether by the water or through the fields, competition was fierce to pick the capital's best cycling route.
So fierce, we ended up with a tie.
The most popular pedal paths in the capital are the waterside Rideau River Pathway from New Edinburgh to Mooney's Bay and the trip through the fields from the Rideau Canal west through the Experimental Farm and McKellar Heights to Pinecrest Creek.
They were selected by our readers over seven other competitors, with the Ottawa River Pathway near Britannia Beach coming a very close third.

Just like your choices for the best patios and picnic spots, some kind of waterfront access was a big draw.
