Jewelry to brighten every look from flirty to fierce
It's pretty much impossible to be in a bad mood while wearing these adorable pom-pom jewelry pieces. We bet these will become a staple — they work with almost everything in your wardrobe, not to mention every mood from flirty to fierce.
Here's what you'll need:
- Pom-pom maker
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Eye pin
- Chain
- Jump rings
- Clasp
- Fish hook earwire
- Needle-nose pliers
- Diagonal pliers
Hee's how to do it:
Pom-Pom Earrings
Take your pompom maker, and wrap a decent amount of yarn around the arches (the part that looks like a half-moon). Feed the yarn through the gap at the edge to keep it in place. Repeat on the opposite side of the pompom maker. Close tightly.
Take your scissors and snip the end of the yarn. Then cut the yarn down the middle groove of the pompom maker. It should be starting to look nice and fluffy!
Take a length of fresh yarn and run it through the center groove. Tie it off tightly with a double knot.
Pull apart your pompom maker to reveal your exciting new pom-pom! Use your scissors to trim it down into a nice round shape.
Stick an eye pin through the center of the pompom. Grab your pliers and use them to curve off the end of the eye pin.
Use your diagonal pliers to cut a small section of your chain – about 2.5 - 5 cm. Hook this chain through the bent end of the pin, and close the loop on the pin fully.
Grab one of your fish hook earwires and connect the other end of the chain onto it. Use your pliers to make sure it's fully secure.
Pom-Pom Bracelets
More pom-poms! Switch up the colors – make a few in a rainbow pattern, alternate between two or three colors, or just throw together whichever ones float your boat!
We're going to repeat the same process as before with the eye pins – stick them through the center of the pom-pom. This time we're going to trim the edge with cutters. Leave just enough to be able to then curve the end with pliers. Do the same on the rest of your pom-poms.
Cut your chain into 13mm segments. Hook a segment onto the curved end of the eye pin. Close the loop tightly to prevent it from slipping off.
Connect the other end of the chain onto another pom-pom, through the loop on the eye pin. Once again, close the loop.
Continue this process until it's long enough to make a bracelet. Now, add a jump ring to each side. Close one jump ring – but before closing the other, add a clasp to it. Now close! Make sure to close the loop tightly with pliers.
And there you have it! The perfect way to add some positive pom-pom cheer to your day!
