Old school love

Paying homage to the '80s and '90s hip hop scene, Jeremy Scott (designer of his eponymous label as well as Moschino) infused his new collection of brightly coloured cosmetics with M.A.C, with musical-inspiration for days — think CD, tape and boombox compacts filled with shimmering hues or pops of saturated colour. The collection lands online and in stores on February 8.

Jeremy Scott x M.A.C collection, from $41 to $98, available at maccosmetics.ca on February 8, 2018

Make it pop

Clinique's latest partnership brings Finnish design house Marimekko's classic pop prints to a line of 20 lightweight lip-glosses, from juicy beiges to saturated berries and coffee tones. The formula is surprisingly non-sticky and remains shiny while it hydrates. And adding these pops of print to your makeup bag will add a vibrant hit of joy to your makeup routine.

Take me away

Every year Essie releases its resort collection, and this season they're bringing some new hues to the line that are simply drool-worthy. Shades of blue and red get a fashion-forward makeover when you swipe on the über-glam First-Class Fling, Join the Club, Attendant to my Needs or I'll Have Another, in an ode to all those high-flying style darlings who are set to jet from New York to London to Milan to Paris for fashion month.

Essie Resort 2018 collection, $9.99 each, available at salons, spas, and select drugstores across Canada

The bodyguard

All-natural skincare, and SPF in particular, is gaining some much-needed traction in the beauty industry thanks to new innovations. LASPA's latest is a mineral, broad spectrum sunscreen that leaves a silky, not greasy, skin finish. This natural, zinc-based lotion will also hydrate skin while it protects.

Get me glowing

This potent mix of alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids and polyhydroxy acids, known simply as Solution, works to help clear up acne-prone skin while it brings a youthful glow back to the complexion when applied after cleansing. We expect another cult-status hit from this booming brand.

The firm

Made with wild blueberry, rice peptides and sunflower-derived plant lipids, this lightweight, organic serum works hard to improve skin's elasticity, firmness and hydration. Talk about a triple threat.

All the way from Australia

This beauty cult favourite has finally landed in Canada thanks to Sephora. Known for their all-natural lip balms, Lano (once called Lanolips) has now expanded into body care as well. If you're going to grab one of their award-winning lippies, add this multipurpose balm to cart as well. Your cuticles, cracked hands and heels, and wind-burnt cheeks will thank you.

Sensitivity training

If you have sensitive skin year-round or your complexion is reacting to the frigid temperatures, this power duo will come to your rescue. Sensitive skin comes with three main concerns: redness, irritation and dehydration. Tackle all three with the Barrier Defense Booster (a concentrated oil booster that contains squaline to lock in moisture) and Calm Water Gel (a weightless water-gel moisturizer that soothes skin thanks to cactus pear extract and opuntia ficus-indica stem extract).

Dermalogica UltraCalming Duo, Barrier Defense Booster, $101, and Calm Water Gel, $65, available at Dermalogica-authorized spas, salons, and at dermalogica.ca,
