I've written about standout drugstore beauty finds before, as I'm a firm believer that hidden gems — i.e. affordable and dependable beauty products — must be shared. While I admit that I love a good splurge (I'm looking at you, Dior Lipglow!), I appreciate a great, effective beauty product at a steal even more. So, we bring you the next round of tried-and-true must-haves, from luxurious lipsticks to sheet masks and retinoids, all of which are available at your local or online drugstore.

The newest mascara from Maybelline New York, Snapscara is a wax-free formula that goes on smooth without clumping or smudging. Unlike many other mascaras, you can take it off with warm water, which is an added bonus for those who like to keep their skincare regimen simple, without compromising their lewk.

Maybelline Snapscara Washable Mascara, $10.99, londondrugs.com

We're obsessed with this lip gloss from NYX, which is available in 20 gorgeous shades. The formula feels moisturizing on the lips, and just one swipe provides an even layer of gloss with the perfect amount of shine. Best of all, it never feels sticky.

NYX Butter Gloss, $8.49, shoppersdrugmart.ca

This anti-aging serum is truly one of the best products I've ever found at this price point. The lightweight, silky formula blends easily into the skin, and according to the brand, is clinically proven to help fade the look of crows feet, brighten skin, and smooth fine lines. Spoiler alert: it actually does what it says. But don't just take it from me — the product was also featured on Allure's coveted Best of Beauty List for 2018.

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum with Retinol, $34.99, shoppersdrugmart.ca

For those with sensitive skin (like me), night creams can often feel way too heavy on the skin, leaving you with a feeling of greasiness and even breakouts. This lightweight night cream from Aveeno soothes my skin and gives it all of the moisture I need at night, without any of said downsides.

Aveeno Active Naturals Ultra Calming Sensitive Skin Nourishing Night Cream, $27.99, well.ca

While we're on the subject of moisturizers, Moisture Bomb from Garnier is a real showstopper. If you're looking for a hydrating and brightening pick-me-up for your skin during these cold winter months, this is the product for you.

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Antioxidant Super Moisturizer, $21.99, londondrugs.com

I'm always on the hunt for a great new highlighter — one that's not too shimmery and adds just the right amount of glow. This highlighter stick from NYX gets it right — the product melts into the skin and provides the perfect amount of buildable, dewy gloss where you want it (hello, cheekbones!).

NYX Dose of Dew Face Gloss, $11.99, shoppersdrugmart.ca

Nothing beats a cheap and cheerful sheet mask! This affordable option contains cucumber and aloe, which are a perfect combo for calming and soothing irritated winter skin.

Yes To Cucumber Paper Mask, $3.99, well.ca

Say goodbye to dull, dry skin with this deliciously-scented body scrub. While some exfoliators can be too harsh on the skin, this rich whipped texture will leave your skin feeling hydrated and irresistibly smooth.

Dove Exfoliating Body Polish, $7.99, londondrugs.com

This new curated lipstick collection from Maybelline is designed to be worn on any skin tone; every colour was tested on 50 different skin tones, with the goal of offering a one-stop collection that looks good on everyone. I certainly can't speak for everyone, but I can say that the colours are gorgeous (I'm partial to "Plum For Me"), and the product feels — and looks — really great.

Maybelline Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick, $10.99 (on sale for $9.99), shoppersdrugmart.ca

Burt's Bees 3-in-1 micellar facial wipes are gentle on the skin, and still manage to remove the toughest eye makeup without harsh rubbing or irritation. Perfect for the gym and late, lazy nights.

Burt's Bees Micellar Cleansing Towelettes, $10.99, shoppersdrugmart.ca
