Orange pylons indicating film and television sets continue to pop up in major cities across the country. According to the Canadian Media Producers Association, B.C. leads the way production volume with Ontario close behind, then Quebec. Shows and movies filmed in those cities include The Flash, The Bold Type, The Salt-N-Pepa Show and The Christmas Chronicles 2, to name a very few.

Even though they've got tight filming schedules, stars still take time out to discover our Canadian cities. We scoured Instagram to find some of their favourite hangout spots.

Karen Fukuhara

Karen Fukuhara is no stranger to Toronto. She spent time in the city filming Suicide Squad three years ago and recently wrapped shooting on The Boys season 2. In the latter she plays the silent but deadly Kimiko (aka The Female). She's killing it in this silk olive green number, while hanging outside the Flatiron building in Toronto's St. Lawrence Market area.

Dominique Tipper

British actor Dominique Tipper is back as Naomi Nagata for season 5 of The Expanse. The space war drama filmed in Toronto. In addition to being a talented actor, Dominique is also a singer-songwriter, which is why her recent performance makes absolute sense. Miss Tipper hit the stage for Good Enough Live Karaoke at The Gladstone Hotel (why am I only now hearing about this event?!). It happens once a month in the melody bar. Any guesses on what she sang?

Jason Priestly

Star of the PI series Private Eyes, Jason Priestly, the 2019 Thanksgiving holiday hanging with his wife, Naomi, kids Ava and Dashiell, along with other family and friends at Casa Loma. The castle hosts an annual Thanksgiving brunch.

Brennan Clost

Burlington native Brennan Clost, of The Next Step fame, was recently cast in the series Tiny Pretty Things. The Netflix ballet drama is filming in Toronto until next month. Brennan recently shared a friendly snuggle with co-star Casimere Jollette in the Annex. In this cold...I don't blame them!

Mario Van Peebles

Actor/director Mario Van Peebles is directing a limited series about pioneering hip hop group Salt-N-Pepa, which films in Toronto. Van Peebles has been getting around the city; here he is back in October, posing it up at California and Hawaiian-inspired poke bar Calii Love on King street.

Meghann Fahy

Meghann Fahy is Sutton Brady on Freeform's The Bold Type, which films in Montreal. You can well imagine that after four seasons the cast has gotten to know la belle province quite well. Meghann tagged salon Le Hideout in a birthday post for her co-star Aisha Dee. Le hideout is an ultra instagrammable beauty salon in Griffintown, Montreal.

Kennedy McMann

The new Nancy Drew series filmed in Vancouver. Kennedy McMann stars as the teenage sleuth. Looking at her instagram, she also seems to be investigating all that the 604 has to offer. Case in point this cute pic from late August on a ferry with her fiance, Sam. The couple was en route to Granville Island. Home to a public market, theaters and artisan workshops among other popular attractions.

Teagan Croft

Australian actress Teagan Croft returns as Rachel Roth/Raven in DC's Titans. Season 2 filmed in Toronto and wrapped in September. The young cast definitely took time to get to know the city. I'm loving this shot of Teagan from the end of August making faces inside Cafe Landwer. Cafe Landwer is an Mediterranean and Italian-inspired resto with two locations in the GTA. The one captured is on University Avenue.
