How one artist is making incredible work by mining landfills
A happenstance meeting between a filmmaker and artist in a Edmonton diner led to this video that features art from landfill finds.
For Edmonton's Chad Baba, one man's junk is another one's artistic muse
Last summer, Austin Grass popped into a coffee shop just as Chad Baba walked in. The two struck up a conversation and Grass was intrigued by Baba, who said he made artifact-based sculpture and lighting. Grass ended up following Baba to his studio behind the diner and when he saw the art, he knew he had to share it.
In this video produced by CBC's Stephanie Matteis, Baba recounts overcoming a rough past to tell the story of Edmonton through his art, made of recovered materials from the city's landfills.
