Given that the new season of the NBA starts tomorrow, it may come as a surprise to learn the rivalry currently capturing the attention of basketball fans and league insiders alike isn't one you'll find on the court.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski (or "Woj") and The Athletic's Shams Charania describe themselves as NBA insiders. They're obsessed with getting the latest scoop and tweeting it first. At one point, Woj was a mentor to Shams.

Now, the competition between them has been described as something akin to Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

CBC Sports senior contributor Shireen Ahmed joins host Elamin Abdelmahmoud to explain why these two reporters are stealing the spotlight, and what that says about sports journalism right now.
