P.E.I.: A small province with a lot of mussel

Join chef Ricardo Larrivée for a glimpse of the work behind the mussel.

In P.E.I., fresh, live mussels are sold 52 weeks a year — rain or shine, summer or winter.

Terry Ennis is the president of Atlantic Aqua Farms. His company cultivates more than 10,000 tons of mussels a year in Stanley Bridge, P.E.I. — that's about 40 per cent of Canada's total production.

The island is home to the biggest mussel-farming industry in Canada, producing about 80 per cent of all mussels in the country. Join chef Ricardo Larrivée for a glimpse of the work behind the mussel.
