Arctic char eggs from Whitehorse, a guarantee of quality for fish farmers

The breeding of fish eggs used for reproduction on fish farms is a little-known Canadian industry. Robin Muzzerall describes the characteristics of the Arctic char eggs that were developed in Whitehorse and are now exported all over the world.

Watch how fish eggs are produced, selected and transported around the world.

Icy Waters Arctic Charr is the largest producer of Arctic char eggs in the world.

Every year the Whitehorse company produces five million eggs to ship globally.

The eggs are carefully sorted by hand and sent to fish farms who, in turn, raise the fish for consumption.

Chef Ricardo Larrivée takes a tour of the facility and is awed by the process and the magnificent setting of Whitehorse, Yukon.
