A 20-year-old woman died in hospital Tuesday from injuries she suffered in a February crash on the Don Valley Parkway, according to Toronto police.

Around 12:10 p.m. on Feb. 28, Toronto police responded to a call for a crash in the southbound lanes of the Don Valley Parkway near Highway 401, according to a news release issued Wednesday.

Police said the 20-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were driving in a Nissan Sentra at a "high rate of speed." The Nissan Sentra changed lanes, hit a Chevrolet Silverado heading in the same direction and the driver of the Nissan Sentra lost control before crashing into a barrier, according to police.

Police did not specify if the man or woman was driving the Nissan Sentra. The man also suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. No one else was injured.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing, police say.
