Man dies after assault in Saint-Lambert, Que., suspect may face manslaughter charge
Police say 2 men found at the scene were detained

Police on Montreal's South Shore say a 47-year-old man has died and a 24-year-old suspect may be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Officers in Longueuil, Que., were called to the intersection of Saint-Georges and Upper Edison streets in Saint-Lambert following a report of a physical assault at around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, the city's police service says on its Facebook page.
Officers found a man in an unstable state of consciousness. He was quickly attended to and transported to hospital in critical condition.
Police say they detained two other men present at the scene who were allegedly involved in the incident.
"We are currently working to verify the circumstances surrounding this event," police say.
The post was later updated to say a suspect is being interviewed by investigators and "a charge of involuntary manslaughter is being considered at this time."
Saint-Georges Street was closed to traffic between Upper Edison and Saint-Charles streets while an investigation was conducted.
