Charges have been stayed against a school bus driver involved in a collision near Rimbey, Alta., last year that killed a teenage girl.
Ron Adams, 62, was to go to trial this week on a charge of failing to unload and load at a safe place or time under school bus regulations.
The Crown decided there's no likelihood of a conviction, officials with Alberta Justice said.
Adams stopped the school bus in thick fog on Highway 53 outside Rimbey on April 9, 2008, to pick up passengers.
The bus was struck from behind by a gravel truck. A 17-year-old student, Jennifer Noble, died when she was thrown from the bus.
The truck driver, Peter Jorgensen, 28, was found guilty of careless driving and driving too fast for conditions.
Rimbey is about 140 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
