London Morning's associate producer, Ryan Soulliere, listens to a lot of music for his role picking tunes for the show. In any given week, that's about 25 songs. Here are his top three local and Canadian picks from last week.

As the saying goes: 'If you know, you know' — and fans of Bobby Bazini already know his name is synonymous with excellent music. The four-time Juno award nominee performed in London this week, and London Morning played Take it Out on Me from his 2023 album Pearl. The song is smooth with Bazini's trademark smokey vocals combined with a Motown-style bed of instrumentation. The tune is complete with a dancing flute line and backup singers that help you sink into the song. Try Take it Out on Me on your latest playlist; it will shine bright on your next dinner party mix.

Burs - Soil

For your weekend day-starter song try Soil by Burs. Soil is the second single of the year from the Toronto indie-folk four-piece, and it is oh-so-smooth. A warm guitar sound, complete with a lap steel line makes a perfect sound bed for the sweet vocal harmonies on Soil. And if you're planning to garden this weekend, now you have a perfect song about life-giving soil.

John Fellner - Mercy Rule

London's John Fellner takes the last spot this week with his latest single Mercy Rule. Fellner is an accomplished songwriter and producer, lending his talents to other music makers in the region. This year he's putting more focus on his own music — and that is proving to be a good thing, especially with songs like Mercy Rule. The soulful song swells with beautiful harmonies over guitars. Try Mercy Rule on a variety of playlists. It makes a great patio song.
