We'll certainly be taking a step backward in Nova Scotia with a shot of snow on the way for Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

The snow will be wet and slushy but&nbsp;will accumulate, especially across eastern areas of the mainland and Cape Breton, where a snowfall warning is in effect.

A snowfall warning has been issued for eastern parts of Nova Scotia, where 10 to 15 centimetres can be expected.

Given that temperatures will be near and even slightly above zero throughout the event, expect snowfall amounts to&nbsp;vary, depending on both elevation and proximity to the coastline.

That said, eastern areas can expect 10 to 15 centimetres with pockets of up to 20 centimetres possible over inland and higher terrain areas.

Central areas including Halifax can expect five&nbsp;to 10 centimetres, with amounts tapering off to a trace in the west.

Showers and flurries will transition to wet snow overnight, meaning drivers can expect a slushy commute on Thursday morning.

Showers and flurries will begin Wednesday&nbsp;evening and then transition to wet snow overnight. The snow will likely remain mixed with rain along parts of the Atlantic coastline.&nbsp;

The snow will continue into Thursday morning, leading to a snowy and slushy commute for most of the province. Anyone travelling should leave themselves extra time and space.&nbsp;

Snowfall amounts will vary thanks to temperatures that will be near or slightly above zero.

The good news is that&nbsp;snow doesn't stick around for long at this time of year.

Temperatures will rise into the mid-single digits on Thursday afternoon, as flurries mix to a few showers and breaks of sun.

We'll see melting snow on Friday with highs in the mid-single digits and more sunshine.&nbsp;

Police have determined a package found outside city hall in Grand Parade posed no threat to the public.
