With a federal election officially underway, 20 candidates have been confirmed across Prince Edward Island.

On March 23, Liberal Leader Mark Carney asked Governor General Mary Simon to dissolve Parliament, triggering the federal election.

Canadians will go to the polls on April 28.

To make sense of who's running for which party and where, CBC P.E.I. has compiled a list of candidates running in each of the province's four ridings.

Here are the candidates running in Egmont

Stretching from Seacow Pond down to West Point, Lennox Island all the way through to the eastern edge of Summerside, Egmont is Prince Edward Island's western riding.

The riding of Egmont in western P.E.I. stretches from the city of Summerside to North Cape.

Here are the candidates running in Malpeque

This federal riding is in central Prince Edward Island. It extends the full width of the province, from North Shore to South Shore, to the outskirts of Summerside at its western end and to the far side of Charlottetown in the east.

Malpeque is the riding covering the rural, central area of P.E.I.

Here are the candidates running in Charlottetown

This is P.E.I.'s most urban riding, containing the City of Charlottetown and some outlying areas toward Winsloe, Brackley and Miltonvale Park.

This riding represents almost all of Kings County, stretching from Tracadie Bay and Scotchfort to East Point, from Souris down to Murray Harbour. Point Prim, Stratford and everywhere in between.

Cardigan covers the eastern end of P.E.I. It runs along the North Shore from the eastern end of P.E.I. National Park to East Point, down to Murray Harbour, and then along the South Shore to the Hillsborough River.
