A Toronto man has been charged in a head-on crash in Mississauga last year that claimed the life of a garbage truck driver.
The accused, a 48-year-old transport truck driver, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving causing death and failure to surrender a daily log, according to Peel Regional Police. He will appear in a Brampton courtroom at a later date.
The crash happened on Derry Road east of Goreway Drive on Sept. 26 at about 2:25 p.m., police said in a news release on Tuesday.
The drivers of both the transport truck and garbage truck were taken to hospital in critical condition. The garbage truck driver was pronounced dead there a short time later.
