London Morning's Ryan Soulliere has 3 hot music picks from this week's shows
London Morning's associate producer, Ryan Soulliere, listens to a lot of music for his role, picking tunes for the show. In any given week, that's about 25 songs. Here are his top three local and Canadian picks from last week.
Willem James Cowan - Jam Jar
London's Willem James Cowan continues to put out great music with earnest vocals and rich instrumentation. Cowan's latest single Jam Jar is upbeat and warm and gives off vibes similar to The Beatles, Sloan and even The Travelling Wilburys. If you want a song that sounds like spring is in the air Jam Jar will fit that bill. Try this one on just about any playlist when you want upbeat and pleasant tones.
Tom Dunphy - You Make Me Shake
A staple in the London music community, Tom Dunphy is known for being the backbone of The Rizdales. Now Dunphy has sites set on a new solo album Everything Was New. The first single form the new solo project You Make Me Shake is steeped in traditional western sounds with plenty of twang and a wonderful lap steel guitar line that makes you feel like you've traveled back to simpler times. You Make Me Shake is a mid-tempo jam that will feel at ease on most playlists.
Goldie Boutilier - King of Possibilities
Nova Scotia-born Goldie Boutlilier is making music out of L.A. these days and the warmer climate might be affecting the mood of her songwriting. Boutelier's latest single King of Possibilities is a slow, luring jam with great keys and a chill vocal delivery. King of Possibilities is an ideal song for starting your weekend mornings and when you want to cool down the mood and relax.
