Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent health units warn of measles exposures in the community — here's where

There have been growing numbers of measles cases in southern Ontario
Health units in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent continue to track measles cases and instances of public exposure to the highly contagious respiratory virus.
On Wednesday, March 19, Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) data showed 15 cases of measles in Windsor-Essex this month.
The health unit also identified more locations where individuals may have been exposed to the virus. Anyone who visited the below locations is asked to monitor for measles symptoms for seven to 21 days.

The health unit on Wednesday also asked anyone who is immunocompromised, pregnant or has children under a year old who visited three other locations (below) during the dates and times indicated to contact the health unit at 519-258-2146 ext. 1420 as soon as possible to identify potential additional treatment options.

Health officials warn that cases of measles will likely continue to increase in the community.
The virus can remain in the air for as long as two hours after an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.
The health units have previously warned people of other potential exposure points in the communities. This list will be updated.

As of March 12, there have been 10 cases confirmed in Chatham-Kent since last fall, according to public health data.
CK Public Health is asking anyone present in these locations during these timeframes who is not up to date with their vaccinations to contact them at 519-352-7270 ext. 5902.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance announced Wednesday that its opening a measles information centre at the hospital to help people who've been exposed to the virus and are not fully vaccinated. If you or your child have been exposed, you must call the centre at (519) 352-6400 to book an appointment.
