Chandra Pasma holds Ottawa West–Nepean for the NDP

NDP was trying to repeat 1st-ever win here

The NDP's Chandra Pasma has won the seat of Ottawa West–Nepean for a second consecutive term.
The riding hugs the Ottawa River between Ottawa Centre and Kanata-Carleton. Highway 417 and the railway overpass between Baseline and West Hunt Club roads mark its southern border.
From the 1950s until 2022, this riding flipped back and forth between Liberals and Progressive Conservatives. Last election, the NDP won it for the first time by about 900 votes over the PCs.
She won by about 8,400 votes over the PCs this time.
Before the breakthrough win for Pasma and her party, she was a union researcher and parliamentary adviser.
Five candidates ran for the seat in this race.
