Former Ottawa city councillor Stephen Blais will keep building on more than two decades of Liberal wins in this east Ottawa riding. CBC projects Blais has won Orléans for a third time.
Orléans contains the large east Ottawa community of the same name, plus Blackburn Hamlet and more rural areas to the south.
Just under one-quarter of 2021 census respondents said they spoke French most often at home.
Created in 1999, the riding has been Liberal since 2003. Blais has represented it since his 2020 byelection, winning about 46 per cent of the vote in 2022.
The former Ottawa city councillor for the area was also a Catholic school trustee, community association president and federal public servant.
Eight candidates ran for the seat.
