CBC projects Steve Clark will keep Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes.
Ontario's riding with the longest name borders the St. Lawrence River from Gananoque to Brockville to Cardinal, and as far north as Kemptville and Westport.
Voters here have chosen the Progressive Conservatives since the 1950s and Clark since 2010.
He won about 58 per cent of the vote last time around. In 2023, he resigned as housing minister following multiple investigations into his ministry's handling of the Greenbelt land swaps.
Before his time as an MPP, Clark was the mayor of Brockville, worked for the local newspaper and was chief administrative officer for the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands.
Seven candidates ran for the seat.
