Allison Russell, Lu Kala, Nemahsis and more up for awards at the Women in Music Canada Honours

The ceremony celebrating women making strides in the industry will take place in Toronto on March 6

The Women in Music Canada Honours are returning to Toronto this March. A range of artists and behind-the-scenes music industry professionals are up for awards, including Allison Russell, Leela Gilday, Lu Kala, Bambii, Nemahsis and more. Past winners include the Beaches, Maylee Todd and Witch Prophet.
The third annual event will take place on March 6 at the Princess Elizabeth Theatre and Kimmortal, Cozmic Cat, Nyssa and Kibra are set to perform.

Apart from the awards that will be handed out on March 6, Women in Music Canada has pre-announced its honourees for international leader of the year, career achievement (women who have been "making waves" for 20 or more years) and rising leaders (five young professionals from across the industry).
The March 6 event will be preceded by a summit on March 4 and 5 at the Allied Music Centre. The summit will include speaker sessions, workshops and networking opportunities.
