The crash happened on private property, police say
A snowmobile driver is dead after a crash involving their vehicle on a private property southwest of London.
At 11:47 p.m. on Saturday, emergency crews were dispatched to an address on Longwoods Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex. A 57-year-old resident of the area was taken to hospital where they later died from their injuries.
A passenger was also taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and local snowmobile groups are reminding snowmobile drivers to ride safely this winter. In January, an 18-year-old man in Perth County and 58-year-old man in Huron County were both killed in similar crashes.
