School buses have been cancelled in Windsor-Essex on Thursday, the service provide rhas announced.

A notice of the cancellation was posted at 5:11 a.m. ET by buskids.ca.

"Area A — City of Windsor — All Board Provided Transportation is Cancelled for the day. Area B — County of Essex — All Board Provided Transportation is Cancelled for the day," the notice reads.

The reason for the cancellation is believed to be a freezing drizzle advisory issued Thursday morning that was in effect for Windsor, Leamington and Essex County.

The advisory has since ended.
