Homicide investigators say a 19-year-old man, who was reportedly assaulted in Abbotsford, B.C., and later found in Surrey, has died.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said in a Tuesday statement that, just before 2 a.m. PT on Jan. 27, witnesses reported seeing a man being assaulted and taken away in a vehicle from the 2900-block of Abbotsford's Victoria Street.
Three hours later, police say the 19-year-old victim was found in Surrey's Crescent Beach area with severe injuries.
He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital, and police are now treating the case as a homicide.

"The victim had his whole life ahead of him, and sadly, his family is now left in grief with many unanswered questions," said Sgt. Freda Fong in the statement.
IHIT said it was speaking to witnesses to find out the motivation for the attack, but investigators believe it was targeted in nature.
