A woman died in a highway accident near Watson Lake, Yukon, last month, the territory's coroner said in a news release on Monday.
According to the release, the incident happened on Dec. 27 on the Alaska Highway, about 100 kilometres west of Watson Lake.
The 27-year-old woman was relocating from Anchorage, Alaska, to Washington state and was the only occupant of the Toyota 4Runner, the coroner says.
The coroner's investigation determined that the woman's right front tire hit the snow on the highway's shoulder and the vehicle was drawn into the ditch. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its roof.
The woman was found dead at the scene.
The coroner says alcohol does not appear to have been a factor, and that the driver was travelling "well below" the speed limit when the accident happened.
"The road and driving conditions on this day were trying, with challenging visibility due to falling snow," the coroner's release states.
