Man charged with 2nd-degree murder in connection with suspicious death on Piapot First Nation

A 40-year-old man is charged with second-degree murder in connection to a death on Piapot First Nation.
Saskatchewan RCMP say Robin Kaiswatum was arrested in Regina on Jan. 4. He appeared in Regina provincial court on Jan. 6 and is charged with second-degree murder, according to an RCMP news release.
On Jan. 2, RCMP were called about an injured woman at a home on Piapot First Nation. At the scene, officers found the body of 30-year-old Melanie Asham-Obey. She was from Pasqua First Nation.
Investigators deemed the death suspicious.
Piapot First Nation is about 35 kilometres northeast of Regina.
