Windsor's public library system is standardizing its branch hours starting Sunday

Only the Local History Branch on Sandwich Street will remain closed on Sundays
The Windsor Public Library system is expanding its service and taking the "guesswork" out of its operating hours.
Starting on Sunday, nine branches will open their doors seven days a week — with hours of operation being standardized across the board. Only the Local History Branch on Sandwich Street near Brock Street will be unavailable on Sundays, the public library said in an online statement.
"We know families need books, computers, and programming all week long, and this service expansion will provide that," said Mark McKenzie, Windsor's library board chair.
The hours at the nine branches will be:
- 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. all other days.
"Our board has listened to residents who told us they were looking for more consistency and we're excited to be moving toward these improvements," he added.
Since Dec. 22, 2024 the local library system has been operating under a shortened holiday schedule.
