Kitchener Rangers will head to Guelph Sunday afternoon for local hockey action
Welcome to 2025 and welcome back to winter after a brief warm spell with snow and sub-zero temperatures in the forecast for this weekend.
The Kitchener Rangers are home on Friday night, hosting the Erie Otters. The Guelph Storm will play host to the Owen Sound Attack Friday night at the Sleeman Centre.
Then the two teams — the Rangers and Storm — face off in Guelph Sunday afternoon with puck drop at 2:07 p.m.
The K-W Titans are on the road this weekend.

Planet Party
Friday, 6:30 p.m. start
Highview Community Church, 295 Highview Dr., Kitchener
Join the Astronomy in K-W club for an evening of talks and star and planet gazing. All planets will be available to view except for Mercury.
Refreshments and washrooms will be available on site. People can bring their own telescope or check out views through a volunteer's telescope.
If the weather doesn't co-operate the talks will still take place and the club may show a documentary about the planets.
Pub Carolling for 12th Night
Sunday 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Ernie's Roadhouse, 7 Queen St. W., Cambridge
The Orange Peel Carollers and Village Band will be singing carols. Song sheets will be available so anyone can take part.
Guelph Psychic and Crystal Fair
Friday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Delta Hotel, Guelph
This fair will feature psychics, mediums, astrologers, aura photography, rune reading, tea leaf and palm readers plus items for sale such as crystals and handmade jewlery. There is a charge for admission.
New year's levee
Sunday, 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Kitchener's city hall
Kitchener's city council members will be on hand for this family friendly event, which will include games, skating, live music, entertainment and light refreshments.
Performance: I Am OK to Feel
Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Cambridge Public Library, Queen's Square branch
Three local classical musicians inspired by Karamo Brown's book I Am OK to Feel will perform uplifting rhythms and engaging movement to help young listeners feel "empowered to explore feelings with confidence, reminding them that all emotions are valid and part of their unique journey."
This is a drop-in program and does not require registration.
