The parents of a 17-year-old killed in a school bus crash in Rimbey, Alta., say no matter the outcome of an RCMP investigation, they don't blame anyone for their daughter's death.

"It's not going to change anything. I'm sure that the driver that hit her, hit the school bus, is trying to deal with it as is the bus driver in their own way," Donna Noble told CBC News on Thursday. "I don't know if it would change anything."

Jennifer Noble — Jenny to her family and friends — died Wednesday when her school bus was rear-ended by a gravel truck on a highway near the town, 140 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.

Donna Noble remembers her last conversation with her daughter, about how they would sit down and look through the graduation photos she just got back when she returned from school that day.

The Grade 12 student was looking forward to studying at Olds College in the fall, said her parents.

"Take something animal-related, animal science or something," said her father, Jim Noble. "She liked animals. She wasn't sure yet. She just loved school."

The Nobles sold a portion of their 160-acre land to buy Jennifer a new car as a graduation gift.

"We'll never see her graduate. We'll never see her get married. We'll never be grandparents," said Donna. "I guess the hardest thing for Jim and I, and I'm sure he'll agree, is that she was our only child."

The Nobles have asked that any donations in their daughter's memory be made to the library at the Rimbey Junior Senior High School where she spent much of her free time.

Jennifer Noble's funeral will be held Tuesday at the Rimbey Community Centre, with her classmates serving as pallbearers.
