Katie Vincent's victory in the women's canoe sprint 200-metre final on Saturday wasn't just her second medal at the Paris Olympics — it helped break two Canadian records.
It gave the country its 25th medal and eighth win, breaking the national records for a non-boycotted Summer Games. Phil (Wizard) Kim, who captured gold in breaking, and men's 800-metre silver medallist Marco Arop extended Canada's record to 27.
The previous mark was set three years ago in Tokyo, and included seven gold.
