Youth charged with murder after death in rural area near Clinton

Both victim and accused were identified by OPP as youths

Provincial police in Huron County have arrested a youth and charged them with first degree murder after a death in a rural area northwest of Clinton.
According to police, the victim, whose identity has not been shared, was also a youth.
Huron County OPP said they initially responded to the call on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m., when a person was transported to hospital and later pronounced dead.
Police did not share the identity of the accused, citing privacy rules under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, however they did confirm the youth is from Central Huron.
The accused made an appearance in court in Goderich on Wednesday, police said.
The investigation is still in its early stages, police said, adding officers will be stationed at the address on Cutline Road, between Parr and Tipperary lines. They're asking residents to avoid the area while their investigation continues.
The investigation is being overseen by the Huron County OPP crime unit, the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
Police are asking anyone with information that could help them in their investigation to call Huron County OPP, or Crime Stoppers.
