Nova Scotia RCMP say a man who was the subject of a provincewide warrant was arrested without incident Saturday on the province's Eastern Shore.

Brandon Crawford&nbsp;Grant, 26, was wanted&nbsp;for being at large without excuse.

Police said&nbsp;they were called to a home in&nbsp;West Petpeswick, N.S., on Wednesday after&nbsp;reports of a man in distress. Officers learned the man had damaged the home with an axe and ran into the woods.

As a precaution, a hospital and school were closed, but later reopened.

Via Rail trip between Halifax, Montreal to take longer due to poor rail conditions

Officials with Via Rail said starting June 19, the eastbound Ocean trip from Montreal to Halifax will take an extra 45 minutes, while 90 minutes has been added to the westbound trip from Halifax to Montreal.

VIA Rail's Ocean line runs from Montreal to Halifax, including regular stops at four stations in New Brunswick. The Crown corporation is currently operating one train a week on the route.
