Reel Shorts: Windsor is a new episode of CBC Gem's Absolutely Canadian series

Filmmakers from Windsor are getting national exposure. Reel Shorts: Windsor is part of Absolutely Canadian, a national CBC program that airs independent shorts, documentaries and animation.
A new episode of the series is exclusively filled with films made by people from the southwestern Ontario border city.
The seven projects in the new episode were all produced and shot in Windsor.

Jaleah Taylor is the filmmaker behind To The Soul — one of two short films she has on the show, which profiles a local musician. Her second piece of content on the program is called Beyond.
"This is a new thing, this is a big thing for me," said Taylor, about her films being on CBC. "Getting to present these films on a wider scale is just exciting."

Mike Stasko is the curator of this project. He is also an independent filmmaker and a professor in the University of Windsor's department of communication, media and film.
Stasko said it's "kind of the best of the best" from the school.
"Every year we have a lot of competition to curate this program down to a final six or seven projects," he said.
