Both drivers taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP say
A 69-year-old woman died Thursday after a delivery truck lost control on an icy highway in southern Manitoba and collided with the vehicle she was in, RCMP say.
The delivery van was headed south on Highway 4 west of the St. Peters Dynevor Bridge in the rural municipality of St. Andrews when it lost control and crashed with a vehicle headed north, police said in a news release Friday.
Mounties responded to a report about the collision around 2:30 p.m.
The 63-year-old man driving the delivery van and the 68-year-old man driving the other vehicle were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 69-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the northbound vehicle, was pronounced dead at the site of the crash, police said.
RCMP continue to investigate.
