The 66th annual Grammys broadcast included plenty of memorable moments — highlights include Tracey Chapman's surprise Fast Car duet, Taylor Swift announcing a new album, and Canadian legend Joni Mitchell's rousing, and first ever, Grammys performance.
The red carpet, too, included many delights and only a few late arrivals, despite the heavy rain in Los Angeles.
Here are ten of the top looks from music's biggest night.

Caroline Polachek

Polachek, an American singer, producer and songwriter, modelled a floor-length black gown with a red lace insert and embroidered "veins" from Belgian fashion designer Olivier Theyskens' Fall 1998 runway collection. We love a vintage, high drama fashion moment.

Taylor Swift

Swift made history last night as the first artist to win Album Of The Year four times. She also commanded attention on the red carpet and on stage in a custom Schiaparelli gown, Giuseppe Zanotti slingback heels and long, black evening gloves. The white, strapless dress features a lace-up back, high slit and asymmetrical draping over one hip.

Jon Batiste

The singer-songwriter, nominated for six awards this year, didn't walk away with a Grammy on Sunday. However, he did perform and wore some great outfits throughout the evening. The skirt-over-pants layering helps this grey, three-piece suit stand out, and his heeled black boots were very on-trend for the evening.

Maluma

Maluma's look was styled by Ugo Mozie, who also dressed the Colombian singer-songwriter for Clive Davis' star-studded pre-Grammys party. The key to standing out in a black tuxedo? A slightly relaxed fit, bold jewelry by Jacob & Co. — that one fine chain makes a big difference — and an (unexpected) pair of pointy, black and white shoes to complete the look.

Janelle Monáe

Also an Album Of The Year nominee, Monáe looked elegant in a custom, sequinned Giorgio Armani Privé column gown, minimally accessorized with a thin choker necklace and stud earrings.

Uncle Jumbo

Jumbo, who was nominated for Best Children's Music Album, sparked joy in a blue and white cloud-patterned jumpsuit, accessorized with leopard print high-top sneakers. The best part? The child that walked the red carpet with Jumbo wore the same look, but in miniature.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen

Several coordinating duos and trios — collaborators, friends and couples — made a splash on the Grammys red carpet last night, and Legend and Teigen, in particular, looked great together. Legend wore a sleek, all-black look by Yves Saint Laurent, and Teigen's velvet and taffeta Sophie Couture dress featured a winning oversized rose.

Dua Lipa

The Grammy nominee and performer shined in a custom silver gown with a very deep V-neckline from French fashion house Courrèges. Adding plenty of shimmer to the slinky look? Her statement Tiffany & Co. necklace, which apparently took 23 carats of orange sapphire and over a thousand hours and to make.

Summer Walker

The Best R&B Album nominee was a standout in her white feathered corset dress and oversized hat look. Why not go all out when you can? Sometimes, more can be fun.
