Trans-Canada Highwaymen is a supergroup born out of four bands that were all over Canadian rock radio in the '90s: Sloan, Odds, Barenaked Ladies and The Pursuit of Happiness.

On the supergroup's new album, Explosive Hits Vol. 1, they pay tribute to their favourite songs by covering classics from 1969 to 1975.

Chris Murphy of Sloan, Craig Northey of Odds, Stephen Page formerly of Barenaked Ladies, and Moe Berg of The Pursuit of Happiness sit down with Q's Tom Power to tell us how K-tel ads from the '70s inspired them to form Trans-Canada Highwaymen, why they chose the songs they did for the album, and what it's like playing each other's music.
